We mistake God’s silence for approval

I don’t know what prompted this text or this thought really. I was coming out of the bath tub after a long prayer in there and it hit me, what does God’s approval look like? How do I decipher between his approval of a situation or my own manipulation of the situation into an approval? Can he withdraw his approval after some time?

Over the years I have struggled with understanding God and his “mysterious” ways. I think the person that coined this term “God works in mysterious ways” was at this point where I am at. After spending half their life in reverence of God, being prayerful, being faithful as far as the human elements could allow them, studying scripture and still coming to a stand still in understanding God’s ways they decided to leave it to human interpretation. Leave it to individual encounters with God the creator.
